Bhutan in Spring features a pleasant climate and moderate temperature. It is among the best seasons to visit Bhutan. During the period, it is generally sunny and the average temperature is around 15-25 degrees Celsius. Itinerary is less likely to be affected than in other seasons.
In the regular tour routes, tourists travel between the valleys by vehicles. In spring, vegetation in valleys embrace a new life, followers blooming, grain sprouting and the melting waters running through the bridges.
In March, there are grand traditional celebrations for Paro Tshechu. Tshechus are religious festivals of the Drukpa Lineage of the Kagyu school of Tibetan Buddhism. Paro tshechu is among the biggest of the tshechus in terms of participation and audience.
During the festival, you can experience the local folk customs and join in the social bonding with local people.
Almost all the large dzongs are surrounded with jacaranda mimosifolia. In May, the red architectures under the blue flowers are even more serene.
In March, it is still cold, especially in the morning and evening. It is recommended to wear light down jackets or plush jackets, long-sleeved shirts, trekking shoes. Sweaters of bright colors are also necessary for shooting beautiful pictures.
In April, the weather is getting warm. Light jackets, sweaters and fleece shirts are recommended. The temperature is very comfortable.
In May, tourists can wear long-sleeved shirts, T-shirts. Females can wear knee-length skirts. Shorts are not recommended for women. It is important to wear long pants or long skirts over the knees. While visiting important religious sites, you need to wear solemnly and take off your hats and shoes.
